Works III
Sculpted Images
Since William Henry Fox Talbot photographed classical busts at photography’s inception, the medium has held a unique relationship with sculpture—translating three-dimensional form into light and shadow. I photograph sculptures across Europe and the American Southwest, drawn to the dialogue between ancient and modern expressions of the human form. Rather than documentary records, I seek intimate angles and particular lighting that reveal vulnerability, endurance and cultural memory.
